We went to Sariska in 1994,(long ago, na?), We were an excited group, looking forward to spotting the Pride of India. But much to our disappointment, we saw almost all animals mentioned on the board outside the entrance gate, except the tiger.

Same was the case with Rajaji National Park, near Haridwar in 1996. We hit jackpot in Ranthombore, in 1999, where we were lucky to not only spot the tiger but in fact spend good time looking at the magnificient creature in all its glory. We were told of all the efforts being made to prevent tigers from becoming extinct. But it's obvious that a lot more needs to be done.

Inspite of the Hullabaloo being made across the globe, we are unable to arrest the poaching. For more read on merinews
